Today's starting lineup
Carlos Correa has been a Houston-version of Mr. October for so many years that Astros fans should know better.
Now playing for the Twins, his clutch play hasn't changed, and when the Minute Maid crowd opted to boo him on Sunday, he only played better. Not a smart move, Jerome Solomon writes.
In Game 2, Correa got the best of Framber Valdez as Minnesota earned a split in the series.
Houston's bats didn't have the clutch hits and the Astros find themselves in an unfamiliar position as they head to Minnesota for Game 3 on Tuesday with Cristian Javier on the mound.
The Texans didn't have a very good Sunday, either. With a chance for a third straight win, they looked off against Atlanta.
But even with their sub-par play on offense (settling for four field goals), they eventually took the lead with under two minutes left, only to see the defense allow the Falcons to march for the winning field goal.
Defense was a prime topic of conversation at the Rockets' annual open house. Tari Eason has some high expectations and new forward Dillon Brooks is no stranger to the importance of defense.
And Simone Biles wrapped up the World Championships with two more individual golds (in floor and beam) to give her 23 for her career. The Pairs Olympis are a little more than nine months away and she is definitely back.
Stat of the day: 10-2. Houston's record in postseason games when Framber Valdez starts before Sunday's loss.

Solomon: Astros fans should know better than to boo Carlos Correa
Former Houston shortstop is at his best in October and doesn't need any extra motivation against his former team
- Framber falters: Astros starter Framber Valdez doesn't last five innings as Carlos Correa gets best of matchup.
- Missed chances: The Astros went just 1-for-7 against Twins pitching when they had runners in scoring position.
- Road warriors: The Astros' aura of home invincibility in the ALDS is gone after a Game 2 loss. Now they hit the road looking to regain control of the series in Game 3.
- Twins 6, Astros 2: Former Astro Carlos Correa drove in three runs as the Twins beat Astros ace Framber Valdez to tie the ALDS series
- Five key moments: Dusty Baker's faith in Framber Valdez backfires and other moments from Houston's 6-2 loss to Twins.
- Game 3: Cristian Javier will start Game 3 in Minnesota on Tuesday.
- Able to laugh: Fans running on the field is discouraged, but the Astros shortstop had to admit a young fan joining the team's handshake line was funny.
- Open house: After saying the roof would be closed for the first two ALDS games, the Astros reversed course and opened it or Game 2.
- Interested observer: Lefthander Bennett Sousa won't pitch for the Astros in the postseason but he had quite the journey just to make an impression in Houston.

Texans defense can't make critical stops in loss to Falcons
After Texans had taken lead, defense lets Atlanta drive for winning field goal in final two minutes
- A lack of O: Houston couldn't get a touchdown until fourth quarter after settling for four field goals earlier in game
- Atlanta 21, Houston 19: The Atlanta Falcons kicked a field goal as time expired to beat Houston and end Texans' two-game winning streak.
- Record streak: Rookie C.J. Stroud has thrown 186 passes without an interception, the best start to a career since Dak Prescott in 2016
- Turning point: The Texans' defense couldn't hold a late lead, with a big pass play helping put Atlanta in range for the winning field goal.
- Report card: A winnable game gets away from the Texans during the second half. We grade the performances of their units and coaches.
- Injury report: Texans wide receiver Tank Dell suffered a possible concussion.
