Today's starting lineup
The Astros' backs aren't totally against the wall, but let's just say there's not much wiggle room as they play the Rangers in Game 3 of the ALCS tonight in Arlington trailing 2-0. Kyle Tucker, mired in a playoff slump, might find himself dropped in the batting order. Cristian Javier, a big-game pitcher in his playoff career, will be looked to once again tonight to rescue his team from the brink. Third-base coach Gary Pettis, who played and coached for the Rangers, looks to make another World Series at their expense. The games in Arlington mark a trip home for Ryan Pressly, a Dallas-area native who grew up rooting for the Rangers. Chas McCormick and José Abreu aren't locals, but have made themselves at home in Arlington this year. Please scroll down for more Astros coverage.
Kevin Porter Jr. is no longer a Rocket after a trade sent the guard with legal troubles to Oklahoma City for Victor Oladipo and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl. The Rockets will get their first look at top overall draft pick Victor Wembanyama in tonight's preseason finale at San Antonio.
Jonathan M. Alexander answers Texans fans' questions in his weekly mailbag.
A win over Texas would go a long way for UH coach Dana Holgorsen and the Cougars. At least that's what fans tell him. In this week's Cougar Confidential, Joseph Duarte looks at some memorable recent UH home football games as No. 8 Texas visits. Jimbo Fisher's conservative offensive approach dredges up bad memories at Texas A&M.
Stat of the day: 3-1. The Astros' record in Game 3 of a best-of-7 series when trailing 2-0. The lone loss came in the 2005 World Series against the White Sox.

Time for a change?
Kyle Tucker, the American League's RBI champion, has yet to get a hit in the ALCS and doesn't have a great history against the Rangers' Max Scherzer. That might mean a move down in the lineup for Game 3.
- Needing a big game: Cristian Javier, who's risen to the occasion in previous big games, is entrusted with helping the Astros crawl out of their 2-0 ALCS hole.
- Coming home for work trip: Astros closer Ryan Pressly has twice pitched against his former teams in the playoffs. Now in the ALCS, he faces the Rangers, whom he rooted for growing up in the Dallas area.
- Hitters' haven: Chas McCormick and José Abreu have been stellar in games at Arlington this year. The Astros are hoping that's a harbinger of things to come when the ALCS shifts there.
- What's that music? Rangers players have rallied around the music of Creed, which means their fans also have adopted the hits from the 1990s and early 2000s.

Porter gone
The Rockets will receive Victor Oladipo and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl from Oklahoma City as Houston gets rid of Kevin Porter Jr., who is facing assault charges in New York.
- Meet Wemby and more: San Antonio rookie Victor Wembanyama is expected to be back on the floor to give the Rockets their first view of him. That and what else to watch for tonight in San Antonio.
