There is no cooking like home cooking. And for us—the chefs, writers and wanderers who make up Roads & Kingdoms' League of Travelers—no place feels as much like home as Asturias in northern Spain.
So it makes sense that we would launch our Fall 2024 announcements with a return to the homeland of our partner José Andrés, in a journey called Asturias from Sky to Sea on October 19-26, 2024.
It is a week of magic and myth, of mar y montaña. It features the Greatest Bean Stew on earth (the fabada) and one of Spain's most elegant rural restaurants, Casa Marcial. We'll be there for an insiders seat at the annual Festival of Vibañu. And your co-hosts are ideal for the journey: native son Alejo Sabugo, who was fixer and producer for Bourdain and José in their Asturias Parts Unknown episode; and R&K co-founder Nathan Thornburgh, who is deeply experienced in the Asturian biathlon of storytelling and cider-pouring.
We are announcing this trip on our newsletter only for now. Our trips have no more than 10 travelers and they do sell out, so send us a note if you'd like to reserve a spot. Meanwhile, you can follow along with this year's Asturias trip—happening right now—on R&K's Instagram.
You can find our other itineraries that still have space available, including in the first half of 2024, on the League site. Puxa Asturies!!
