Minor arrested after 17-year-old killed in Rio Linda shooting – A minor was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of killing a 17-year-old in Rio Linda, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office. It's not clear how old the minor is, but he was arrested on Sept. 19. His identity has not been released and it's not clear what led up to the shooting. The shooting happened on Monday, Sept. 18 in the 6900 block of 22nd Street, between Elkhorn Boulevard and Q Street.

1 teen dead, 2 teens injured after crash, hitting pole in Antelope – A teenager died and two other teenagers were injured after a crash in Antelope Wednesday night, according to California Highway Patrol. The crash happened on Antelope and Antelope North roads just after 9 p.m. CHP is investigating and says the three minors were driving in a Chevy sedan westbound on Antelope Road at a high rate of speed when they crashed into a Chevy truck going the same direction.

Citrus Heights elementary school hounded by flea-infested foxes – Skycrest Elementary School staff and parents are concerned for their students after several foxes were reported wandering across the Citrus Heights campus in recent weeks. San Juan Unified School District officials said they first notified parents Sept. 8 when they noticed the presence of fleas inside and outside a classroom. Foxes were being spotted next to buildings, out in the field and other places.
