What to eat, see and experience in Houston this Fall

Yes, it's still hot out but fall is around the corner and that means new productions on our all of our live stages around town. We have your guide to the major upcoming shows in theater, classical music, dance and visual arts.

Back to what's going on this weekend. The Pappas Family has a new eatery, Little's Oyster Bar, that Alison Cook says may be the best new restaurant in Houston.

On the movie front, there are quite a few new titles landing in theaters, including the DC superhero tale "Blue Beetle," the foul-mouthed, live-action dog movie, "Strays," and the sexually explicit "Passages."

You can pack up the family and head to The Rosenberg Railroad Museum, one of the more unique yet underrated attractions in southeast Texas.

H-E-B is getting into the movie business by sponsoring "Our Texas, Our Future," a series of shorts dealing with Texas state parks and wildlife.

Also: Thai pop-rock star Phum Viphurit makes a rare Houston stop; Shipley's Do-Nuts is rolling out pumpkin spice donuts; the unrelenting heat wave is taking a toll on Houston restaurants; Mexican superstar Gloria Trevi lives multiple lives in the new series "Ellas Soy Yo"

Have a great weekend!
