Help us find a Houston area Student of the Month.
Remember all the different groups of students in middle and high school?
The cool kids, the jocks, the A students, etc.
Were you the outgoing student in the front of the classroom, or maybe the outstanding student athlete roaming the halls wearing a letter jacket?
None of the above?
The Houston Chronicle is launching a regular feature where we ask readers to nominate a Student of the Month.
In May, we asked readers to submit their nominees for Student of the Year, and the entrees I received spanned different categories: from a student who helped develop an environmental project at his school and another who led her cheer squad to back-to-back championships, to a student who volunteered at a local center for the deaf, and another who devoted her off-school hours to a local homeless pet non-profit.
The nominees don't have to be the top athlete or a straight A student, or the most popular students.
Help us put a spotlight on a student in your community who you believe deserves some recognition.
