Let us know which local campus has the best school lunch.
Tuesday's "steakettes" with gravy and mashed potatoes -- that was my favorite school lunch day at elementary school in Pasadena.
Does school cafeteria food get a bad rap? Find out what Houston area districts are serving up for lunch and vote here for the one that sounds the best.
School lunch menus have changed over the years, and today they're more focused on nutrition and having options.
At Clear Creek ISD, students have to choose at least two fruits, two vegetables, and one milk.
The district participates in USDA's School Breakfast Program and National School Lunch Program and there are "meal pattern guidelines" to follow for each tray of food to be considered a balanced meal.
It's probably not that different from my elementary school days, but then again education about child nutrition has also evolved.
Because what exactly was a "steakette"?
