New Webster eatery combines whiskey and donuts for a unique experience.
Picture a small donut, glaze dripping off the edges.
Now imagine that donut sitting atop of shot of Tennessee whiskey. It's called the Whiskey Glaze, and it's just one of the signature menu items you can find at Donut Distillery, a new shop that recently opened in Webster.
League City couple Joe and Jordan Bloodworth discovered this place in Nashville and immediately wanted to become franchise owners for the first location in Texas.
The combination of donuts and whiskey, and sometimes coffee?
How can you lose?
The couple already had a successful business flipping houses, but their passion for their new business venture reminded me of those feel-good stories you might see on the Food Network. The kind of stories where someone or a group of people just bravely switched gears in life and leave high-stress jobs to take the dive into something unfamiliar.
Jordan Bloodworth told me it was a little scary at first, but there are no regrets – because, she said, seeing people enjoy what Donut Distillery has to offer is fun.
The place is getting a good buzz too from customers, pun intended.
