Be careful in this extreme summer heat, Katy Insiders.
I thought maybe I was going crazy because I felt like last summer was not this hot, but it turns out, I was right.
This heat dome -- that I still don't fully understand -- is now more or less parked on top of Texas, resulting in the highest temperatures in 43 years.
Based on climate data, our newsroom meteorologist Justin Ballard writes, the 30-year normal high temperature for July 18 in Houston is 95 degrees. However, the high temperature was 101 degrees yesterday, according to the Weather Channel.
And if the roasting temperatures weren't enough, the Saharan desert is throwing dust at us.
I have to admit, I'm struggling a bit here. I love Texas to my core, but I'm contemplating packing up and moving to Maine and starting a lobster farm.
How are you holding up in this heat? Do you have any suggestions for getting a break from the outdoor inferno that is Texas right now? Share your suggestions with me.
