Revealing Email of the Week: Your article title (Diversity should be welcome in TX and U.S.) caught my attention so I stopped to read it. I don't agree with all of it. … Texas is changing (as well as the US) and not for the better for this Texas gal. And not near as safe with too many people moving to this great state from other areas. But I will never leave TX. I look forward to one day moving from Katy to a neighboring Czech town with conservative beliefs, less diverse, less people. — Kelly Mathews Thoughtful Email of the Week: Thanks for you thoughts and transparency on your wife's business (Fact-checking the GOP's false claims about wind power). Agree we will need the Big Tent of multiple tech generation including batteries that don't rely on natural gas during freezes. In my humble opinion if you want to reach out to the middle of green vs carbon in Texas you should point out to the communities (starting with Sweetwater) that were saved economically by the lease payments from wind and solar farms. Just quote Rick Perry and ask : "Isn't Texas open for all business?" — David Rogers ͏ ͏ ͏

| Good afternoon. | Even in America's mass shooting capital, the failure of police to stop the Uvalde massacre was unimaginable. In May 2022, the editorial board board launched a vigil of editorials agitating for reforms and demanding truth about how "heroes" left 21 children and teachers to die. The pieces tapped into the emotional trauma and collective anguish of this state and nation, and then channeled it into pragmatic calls for reforms.
The series -- by Lisa Falkenberg, Joe Holley, Michael Lindenberger and Nick Powell -- has been named a Top 3 finalist with the 2023 Pulitzer Prize for editorial writing.
