For Hallie Moore, that lofty title was preceded by years of world travel, which is reflected in her work. A resident of The Woodlands for 35 years, Moore has lived in Brazil, Singapore and England. Poet laureates are a five-year post nominated by several local groups, including The Montgomery County Literary Arts Council. Moore will be succeeding The Woodlands' Dede Fox as Montgomery County's next poet laureate. Moore said the title makes her squirm a little, but it is her hope to change people's perceptions about poetry and highlight the diversity of Montgomery County.  Read more about the life of a MoCo poet here.
