Italian (or at least Italian-ish) seems to be the cuisine du jour in Houston. Chronicle food writer Greg Morago has reported on multiple new openings in the past few days alone, including Dante, Bari and Passerella. This week critic Alison Cook checked out new Italian sandwich specialist Primo Hoagies, too. In the pasta realm, food writer John-Henry Perera scored a decadent recipe for lobster mac and cheese. It may be from a popular Japanese restaurant, but it's got an Italian heart. For my part, I'm planning a long-weekend pizza pilgrimage to New York.
