Robert Fratta offered no final words before his execution Tuesday night in Huntsville, a final act witnessed by one of his children he had with his murdered wife. His death came after a last-ditch legal drama over the drugs used by the state in lethal injections, a legal showdown that delayed his death by more than an hour.
The former police officer was convicted in the 1994 death of his estranged wife, Farah Fratta, in a murder-for-hire plot he was found guilty of orchestrating.
