🎭 Get Inspired: Fade To Black, Houston's first and only short play festival to showcase new works of Black playwrights, returns for its sixth year this weekend. The festival will feature artists from across the country, including a Texan from El Paso.

🏠 Get Historic: Experience history on the historic homes tour at Katy Heritage Park. The houses are decorated as they would have been in the early 1900s, as well as the post office that was operable in Katy in the '20s and '30s.

🎸 Get Local: Celebrate two rock 'n' roll icons with an affinity for performative flair on their birthday weekend at the annual BowiElvis Festival. There will be multiple stages with live music, costume contests and sandwiches involving peanut butter fit for the King, as well as one for David Bowie.
When: 6:30 p.m. Saturday, January 7

🤓 Cat's Pick: Nerd out at the recently reopened Grand Prize Bar. Saturday's Nerd Nite will feature talks on the history of grillz, Texas marijuana laws and cheesemaking and making the perfect charcuterie board.
