| The NBA's schedule of Christmas Day played second string behind the report that James Harden is considering a return to Houston as a free agent if he doesn't decide to stay in Philadelphia. There are reasons such conjecture might be as legitimate as it is fun, even beyond that it does not hurt Harden's cause as he heads to free agency decisions to make it clear that he could have options, Jonathan Feigen explains. As young and developing as the Rockets are, Harden could make sense as he morphs into a pass-first point guard, rather than the "points guard" as Mike D'Antoni called him when he put the ball and Rockets' chances in Harden's hands. It does not hurt Harden's coming free agency to let it be known that there is a team with loads of cap room that he would be happy to join, especially since he does not seem the least bit distracted by speculation. Still, as with Harden's departures from the Rockets and the Nets, Harden tends to get what Harden wants. He has plenty of time to decide what that is. Stat of the day: 34. How old James Harden will be next season. |
