  1 person dead after 3-vehicle crash along I-80 near Fairfield – A three-vehicle crash along eastbound Interstate 80 turned deadly Sunday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol. The accident happened around 5:40 p.m. east of Pittman Road, near Fairfield. A CHP spokesperson said a Tesla sedan was traveling at a high rate of speed when it hit two other vehicles and overturned several times along the roadway. Jan. 6 panel recommends criminal charges for Trump in final public hearing – The House Jan. 6 committee is wrapping up its investigation of the violent 2021 U.S. Capitol insurrection, with lawmakers on Monday declaring that they have assembled a “roadmap to justice” to bring criminal charges against former President Donald Trump and his allies. While a criminal referral is mostly symbolic, with the Justice Department ultimately deciding whether to prosecute Trump or others, it is a decisive end to a probe that had an almost singular focus from the start.
Sheriff: Man killed in Foresthill, 69-year-old arrested– Late Sunday night deputies responded to a report of a homicide in the 5000 block of Polaris Way. They found a man dead inside the home. Cena Larimer, a 69-year-old who reported the homicide, was arrested in connection to the shooting death of the man.  There is finally some good news to report in terms of the drought - exceptional drought conditions have dropped by almost half from nearly 13% to 7%. That 7% still resides on the San Joaquin Valley which has been largely deprived of meaningful, soaking rainfall the last three years apart from a few atmospheric river events.
HEARTWARMING A family is giving back to those in need in Sacramento. Sunday afternoon, they passed out gifts to children and families in North Sacramento and spent the night bringing blankets and warm clothes to the homeless community. WEATHER FORECAST     |
