| As eviction cases continue to climb in Harris County, Commissioners Court on Tuesday approved $4 million aimed at shoring up tenants' access to legal representation to fight the possibility of eviction. It has been more than a year since the federal ban on evictions ended, but the challenges struggling renters face have not disappeared. Since the ban ended, roughly 76,000 evictions have been filed in Harris County totaling nearly $190 million in claims, according to data from Houston-based January Advisors, which tracks eviction data.
