| Did I tell you I was envious? OK, actually not so much envious (since that's a sin), but extremely proud of three students from the Lake Houston area (Atascocita, Summerwood, and Kingwood) who experienced what many wannabe's would love to do--be a backup singer for a star. No air guitar, this was real, bonafide talent. Jocelyn McDaniel, Isaac Recio, and Daniel Ward shared with me this week their unique perspectives as they sang backup for Canadian international star Michael Bublé at the Toyota Center on his recent tour to Houston on Tuesday, Sept. 13. I was gobsmacked as each detailed their personal journeys to such an honor for young singers. Read my story to find out why Jocelyn back story had my heart, Issac's rich music pedigree and Daniel, the seven-foot teddy bear with a penchant for the stage. Each one was deserving of that honor to accompany an international star and kudos to their director Todd Miller at Lone Star College-Kingwood for using his influence to give them that opportunity to learn the music business up close. It was refreshing to see how serious they took the professional gig and prepared appropriately for the task. That speaks volumes for where they're headed and great coaching. If you see them out and about in the community, be sure to give them a pat on the back for their hard work and for representing our area so well.
