Smaller payments for child tax credit expected for some parents –Because of what the Internal Revenue Service described as a "technical issue" with its September payments, some families nationwide are going to see their child tax credit payments decrease for the remaining months of 2021. The IRS said its technical issue caused about two percent of families to receive last month's payment late. Affected families should expect to receive a letter explaining what is going to happen with their tax credit — and how to resolve the issue.
