Stormy weather not enough to cancel Sacramento's Ironman race – With little time to cancel the planned Sunday event and cyclers riding in from across the country, race officials said the show must go on. Physical and mental endurance is already part of the thrill, said a cycler in the race, Philip Hutchenson of New York City. More than 3,000 athletes are planning to race 140.6 miles, including a 2.4-mile swim from the American River to the Sacramento River. Conditions won't be drying up by Sunday, but Hutchenson said race officials always make the right calls when it comes to athlete safety. (Van Tieu, ABC10) Stockton mother wants to know why her son was killed – Dorian Brown said her son didn't have beef with anyone, which is why she was shocked upon hearing in June her 24-year-old son was shot and killed in Downtown Stockton. Two men were arrested in connection with his death within 24 hours of the shooting but the motive remains unclear. The mother said she has not received much information from investigators, including the number of times her son was shot and the length of time he laid there. Stockton police told ABC10 the case is working its way through the court system and would not make further comment on the matter.
