Sacramento sees its heaviest 24-hour rainfall in recorded history – With rainstorms from the Atmospheric River pummeling Sacramento over the weekend, meteorologist Rob Carlmark reports Sunday's rain culminated in 5.44 inches of rain within 24 hours. The record rainstorm led to rockslides across Northern California, particularly in areas ravaged by wildfires with little vegetation to soak up flash flooding. Coupled with persistent snowfall, hazardous debris and car accidents on major highways forced their shutdown, leaving many drivers backed up in traffic throughout Monday morning. (Rob Carlmark, ABC10) Storm Watch Latest: Roads reopening, schools closing for "snow day" – The National Weather Service lifted the flood advisory warning on Sacramento earlier this afternoon, but the damage from 24-hours of record rainfall continues to be assessed. Jesuit High School's campus near Sacramento closed because of flooding and power outages which affected the school's online communication. Highway 50 recently reopened for all vehicles, as did Westbound I-80, though only with passenger cars. He was at City Hall on Sunday surveying the situation. (Tegna, ABC10) TIP OF THE DAYFinding temp work via text message... There's a new way to find work.
