IRS begins sending checks to millions of Americans – The October advanced child tax credit payment is going out to eligible parents. The credit is $3,600 annually for children under age 6 and $3,000 for children ages 6 to 17. Eligible families who did not opt-out will receive $300 monthly for each child under 6 and $250 per older child. The payments are scheduled to arrive on the 15th of each month, except on weekends. The payments are going out to tens of millions of Americans, so don't be surprised if it takes a day or two to show up. But even with bullet holes in his face, Bobby Gayle had one message: "I can't have hatred living in my heart." Gayle was shot Friday, Oct. 8. His brother Marlon Gayle said his Bobby finished up a construction job at a North Stockton restaurant next to the Wells Fargo Bank when he yelled at a man driving fast in the parking lot. That's when the man stopped his pick-up truck, got out and started shooting. "I can't have hatred living in my heart, and in case if I do, it takes the place of love and other things like that. So that's a no, no," Bobby Gayle said. (Gilbert Cordova, ABC10) 4 survive plane crash in Sacramento County– Officials say four people survived after a plane went down in the Wilton area of Sacramento County on Thursday. A spokesperson with Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District said the aircraft landed in the front yard of a home and sparked a small vegetation fire. That was quickly extinguished. Citing bystanders in the area, Captain Parker Wilbourn, spokesperson for the fire district, said the plane was not in the air for very long before it crashed down. Fire officials said that two men, one boy in his teens, and a pregnant woman were on the plane. Wilbourn said the four people "all look promising for a full recovery." The entire University of California system will now requiring all students, faculty and staff to get their flu shots, in addition to getting the COVID-19 vaccine.
