Queer student at St. Francis High faces discipline after waving pride flag at school rally – They self-identify as a 16 going on 17-year-old, gender-fluid queer student at St. Francis High School in Sacramento, who loves “everybody equally.” However, Emma Houle is facing disciplinary action as they push for inclusion on the all-girls Catholic campus. This all started after Houle was recently elected a princess on the school’s homecoming court, where she began vying to be crowned the school’s first openly queer homecoming queen. During the rally to announce the homecoming queen, Houle waved the rainbow-colored Pride flag. Houle did not win homecoming queen, but they felt they won the support of peers, some school staff, as well as the ire of administration. (Giacomo Luca, ABC10) 'God didn’t cause this devastation, but He will get me through it' | Homes lost in Sacramento County mobile home park fire – The River Delta Fire District continued its work Tuesday to contain a fire that destroyed 30 structures in Sacramento County. Fire Chief Paul Cutino said 54 acres have burned so far and the fire is at 60% containment after breaking out Monday afternoon at Rancho Marina RV Park along Brannan Island Road. Deputy Fire Chief Hugh Henderson, with River Delta Fire District, said the strong winds hampered firefighting efforts. While many homes were saved, dozens more were lost. "I don't mind losing the trailer or any of the functional things, my clothes. It's just that I had sentimental papers in there." said James Topf, who lost his trailer in the fire. (Zach Fuentes/Eric Escalante, ABC10) 'It's been too long' | Family of Allan Olvera calls for justice 20 years after his murder – 20 years have gone by and the family of Sacramento man Allan Olvera are still waiting for justice. Olvera's family and friends gathered Monday night for a candlelight vigil marking the 20 year milestone and commemorating the life of a man who was beloved in the Native American community. Allan Olvera was murdered in his own home, in his own living room, on Oct. 11, 2001. "As a family, we are grief stricken, upset we are. It's been too long. 20 years is too long to wait for an arrest," said Matthew Franklin, Olvera's nephew. The Olvera family gathered to remember and reflect on Olvera's life and call for justice.
