Convenience Big Store: FDA advisory panel approves Pfizer shot for children

What's the timeline for your kids getting the COVID-19 vaccine? – The Federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA) advisory panel just voted unanimously that children ages 5 to 11 benefit from the Pfizer vaccine. While the FDA isn't required to take the panel's recommendation, the national institution is expected to release its own decision within the next few days. That's where the CDC comes in — they will decide next week whether to recommend shots for this age group. So far, over 25,000 pediatricians and other primary care providers signed on to offer the Pfizer vaccination.

Affordable housing in Stockton for veterans carved out of 1950s building – Opening in December, a Stockton building from the 50s to be turned into affordable housing for veterans. Singles or families making 30% to 60% of the areas average income are eligible to apply for the future three-story Liberty Square Apartments complex. The complex also has a computer lab, two community centers, daycare center and a space for social services. 'Safe Grounds' site hosted in Sierra Health backyard – Sacramento is developing another 'Safe Grounds' site to allow unhoused people residency on the property. This time, it's happening behind the Sierra Health Foundation headquarters off Garden Highway. With shade from an assortment of trees overlooking the American River, Sierra Health Foundation's backyard is large and vast enough to host encampments of unhoused people on the land, said CEO and President of the health foundation Chet Hewitt.
