Anti-Semitic fliers left at synagogue in Carmichael – The Shalom Le Israel synagogue in Carmichael was the target of a hate crime Wednesday night, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office. Numerous “Aryan Nation” posters depicting Adolf Hitler and the phrase “Hitler was right” were plastered across the front of a menorah and along the front of the small worship center on Fair Oaks Boulevard. Rabbi Boris Tsiprush of the synagogue, whose Hebrew name means Peace to Israel, says they are shocked but not frightened by the hateful and anti-Semitic fliers. (Giacomo Luca, ABC10) Northern California bracing for strong impactful storms Friday and Sunday – After a week of light showers, bigger storms are stacked up and ready to impact Northern California. Late Thursday night and through Friday morning, a new system will bring rain and some snow to the area. This storm could bring up to an inch of Valley rain and several inches for the coastal range and Sierra. This storm is warmer than normal and will bring mostly rain to the Sierra passes with snow forecast above 8,000 feet, at least. Friday night and early Saturday, the storm will mostly clear, giving the best opportunity for drier conditions on the weekend. (Rob Carlmark, ABC10) California's last Kmart to close and make way for new Target in Grass Valley – Kmart in Grass Valley is expected to close its doors permanently in December. Mesa Management, which owns the shopping center, said the closure is part of a four-year long negotiation with the superstore. Steve Mensinger, president of Mesa Management, told ABC10 the Kmart closure will clear the way for a new flagship store from Target. Kmart is expected to close Dec. 19 and Target will pick up the new lease in January. Mensinger said the construction process could take anywhere from 12 to 16 months.
