Houston's newest street artist wants to give the city's art deserts a power up.
Known professionally as Neato Rodriguez, the guerilla street artist works a day job along a busy industrial Tanner Road just east of Beltway 8. Big rigs, wreckers and mini-vans come and go down the narrow, two-lane stretch of pavement on a daily basis – and Neato noticed the drive was a little boring.
"This whole area of Houston has been barren of artwork," Neato said outside his work Wednesday morning. "Any time there's major construction, whatever they're working on they'll just leave pieces of material behind. If they're going to leave it there, why not spruce it up a little bit?"
