  Former San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer's gubernatorial campaign plans lawsuit over ballot designation – The former San Diego Mayor's campaign is not pleased that the ballot won't say that Kevin Faulconer is the retired mayor of San Diego. His campaign said it would sue the California Secretary of State's Office over the title. Faulconer is one of 41 candidates expected to be on the recall ballot. ( ABC10 & Associated Press) New state program hopes to give COVID vaccine hesitancy a shot in the arm – California officials are hopeful a new grant program, CalVaxGrant, will allow smaller doctor's offices and clinics to afford the costs associated with vaccinating people throughout California. A doctor in Stockton said he spent $30,000 to $40,000 to fund vaccinations since March. The main focus of the program is to help vaccinate people who are wary of getting the vaccine. The state says as many as 4,000 state physician practices may receive the awards. (Kurt Rivera, ABC10) Unpaid utility bills? California will pay off utility bills – California lawmakers have agreed to pay off $2 billion of Californians’ utilities debt. Official estimates report a few million Californians have accumulated several unpaid water and energy bills during the coronavirus pandemic.
