The talks between the SEC and the University of Texas and University of Oklahoma have been going on for at least six months, but no one gave Texas A&M officials a heads up, according to a report from the Austin American-Statesman's Kirk Bohls.

Bohls' reporting comes from a "prominent Big 12 source" who said the deal to get the Longhorns and Sooners into the SEC is almost done and could become official in a week. "They've been working on this for a minimum of six months and the A&M leadership was left out of discussions and wasn't told about it," according to the source.
