Click here California's skyrocketing gas prices are due to demand, but shortages may also be coming – California gas prices are on their way up again with the summer months on the horizon. While the Colonial Pipeline hack might have people on the East Coast worried about their gas prices, Sergio Avila, spokesperson for AAA of Northern California, said people on the West Coast don’t need to share the same concerns. So why are we also seeing a price hike? Avila said the rise is due to an increase in demand especially as we inch closer to Memorial Day. Though the price hikes may not be the fault of a gas shortage, experts are still warning about the potential for scarcity. Remember the sold out toilet paper saga of 2020? Perhaps there will now be a rush on gasoline. (Eric Escalante and Staff, ABC10) 'It wasn't that hard to decide' | Young COVID-19 vaccine volunteers hope to help life get back to normal – California is nearing approval of Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine for 2.1 million children ages 12 to 15. But that approval wouldn't be possible without the help of young volunteers across the country. 12-year-old Isabella Fahrni is a Pfizer clinical teen trial participant from Davis. Fahrni volunteered because she was curious to learn more about the vaccine and how it works. (Staff, ABC10 and Associated Press) Robocalls in California traced back to inmates in Florida – Getting a ton of spam calls recently? Nearly half of all mobile calls in the United States are robocalls. ABC10 has been investigating a recently spate of more frequent and more aggressive robocalls. We were able to track some of the calls one viewer was receiving in California to a location down near St. Petersburg, Fla and gave the number a call.
