| No images? Click here EDD warns of a new wave of text scams – Don't click that link! EDD is warning about a new wave of text scams targeting people who got a debit card through Bank of America. This includes millions of people who have received unemployment benefits during the pandemic. The fraudulent messages include false claims about your debit card being suspended or the need to update your verification and they also include a link. It is very important that if you receive a text message like this, you do not click the link sent in the text and that you do not share any personal information including account numbers or names. Bank of America and EDD will never text message people to reactivate a debit card. Click here for some examples of the fraudulent text messages. (Josh Lyle, ABC10) School districts prep to vaccinate new age group – Natomas Unified School District has held vaccination clinics for the entire community since February, but starting soon, it’s adding 12 to 15-year-olds to the group of those eligible. The district follows the state closely and when it got word this age group could be added to the mix, Director of Communications Deidra Powell said it wanted to get plans in place. “This is about giving parents an option," Powell said. (Brea Love, ABC10) California governor says mask mandate to end after June 15 – No mask mandate? Gov. Newsom says the day when mandatory face coverings are no longer needed is coming soon. On Tuesday, Newsom said there would be “no mandates” for wearing masks outdoors, except for large indoor gatherings where people "from around the world” are mingling.
