Click here Newsom likely to face recall election as counties report over 1.5 million signatures – Today, California is getting another tally of the verified signatures supporting a recall election against Gov. Gavin Newsom. According to the Secretary of State's office, there are enough verified signatures as of Monday, and the verification process is still not complete yet as counties have until April 29 to verify the remaining signatures. There will now be a withdrawal period where people can retract their signatures. If the recall effort still has enough signatures by the end of the withdrawal period, the election will move into the next phase of the process. The costs of the recall election could come in at a staggering $400 million to taxpayers, according to the California Association of Clerks and Election Officials. However, officials with the recall campaign have suggested the cost to be much lower around $81 million. Who's using it again locally? – The Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine was reauthorized for use again in the U.S. on April 23, after an 11-day pause following rare blood clots in a handful of patients. The vaccine was cleared on Monday for use again. Now that the J&J shot is once again an option, ABC10 called some of Northern California's local county health offices, as well as some of California's largest healthcare providers, to see when they will start re-administering it.
