Click here Third stimulus check: IRS to begin sending payments for social security recipients – The Internal Revenue Service and Treasury Department announced Tuesday that stimulus checks for Social Security recipients and other federal beneficiaries will be issued this weekend. While these payments will be distributed in the coming days, the agencies said the majority of the checks will be sent electronically and received on Wednesday, April 7. The update comes just as the IRS said it is adding 'plus-up' payments to some stimulus checks in situations such as where a person’s income dropped in 2020 compared to 2019, or a person had a new child or dependent on their 2020 tax return. Recipients of Social Security benefits, or roughly 30 million Americans, were not initially given a timeline of when they would receive payments. Meanwhile, the IRS said Tuesday it is still working out when Veterans Affairs benefit recipients will receive their stimulus payments. It's a familiar position for the county. The county was originally projected to move into the red tier mid-March. As of April 1, the county holds a dubious distinction of being one of only three counties in California left in the purple tier. It's a situation that Tiffany Heyer, spokesperson for San Joaquin County Office of Emergency Services, said is connected to getting support into communities that were hard hit by the pandemic over the past year.
