Police investigate how a Sacramento elementary school PTA lost $47,000 – Nearly three years after tens of thousands of dollars went missing from the Natomas Park Elementary School Parent-Teacher Association in Sacramento, officials with the Natomas Unified School District (NUSD) are searching for answers. The missing funds totaling more than $47,000 stem from the 2019 PTA, said Deidra Powell, a spokesperson for NUSD. NUSD filed a police report in October 2019 after learning of the issue, Powell said. District officials requested financial disclosure documents from the Natomas Park Elementary PTA, which has been uncooperative. The issue has remained unresolved since 2019 but now the school district wants answers. Northern California lupine super bloom bittersweet as dry lake is replace by purple flowers – Locals from the Sacramento area are flocking to Folsom Lake this week, and it's not for a quick dip or a scenic hike. A lupine super bloom is in full force in the Granite Bay region of the recreational area, washing the sandy landscape in a sea of purple. The super bloom is beautiful, but it's also bittersweet: it was only made possible by dry conditions at the lake leading to low water levels. Nearly the entire area is typically covered in water.
