Welcome to another edition of our Travel Tuesday newsletter! First, thanks to everyone who gave suggestions on what they'd like to see here. Most of you wanted information regarding the Coronavirus and travel.
I've been waiting for countries to come up with more firm guidelines before I wrote anything.
But fret not — a guide is in the works!
Second, I've spent most of this past week offline as I've been in a little funk lately. The uncertainty about the world, the travel industry, this business, and life has gotten me down.
I needed some "me time."
I don't think we give ourselves enough quality "me time." Time when you're alone with your thoughts, a good book, or with nature.
"Me time" isn't about sitting in front of Netflix. It's about using that time to grow, think, and heal.
Taking the week off social media gave me that time to grow, think, and heal.
While the travel industry is in rough shape, I have supportive friends and family and, thanks to readers like you, this blog continues to stay afloat. Things could be a lot worse.
My "me time" also made me realize how much I actuallylove social media and how amazing it is to connect with people online. There are wonderful, supportive people out there.
There's no reason to be so tough on yourself. We're all just figuring it out as we go.
And I know we can't travel now but, one day, we will be able to again.
And thinking about it keeps me hopeful.
Because what is life without hope, right?
THIS WEEK'S VIRTUAL MEET-UPS Our free virtual travel events for the community continue this week with the following:
COOL STUFF AROUND THE WEB 1. Wanderbabe Clothing - My friend Kristin from Be My Travel Muse started an awesome travel-inspired women's clothing line that uses eco-friendly material and donates part of their profits to charities that empower women.
There are a lot of outdated myths about travel floating around out there. Here are 7 of the most common ones I hear about — and why you should ignore them!
Helsinki is an awesome destination that usually gets overlooked by travelers. But I love it there. Here's a list of my favorite things to see and do in the city.
