The most beautiful houses in Japan you can rent

Hello!

Thursday is here, the weekend is coming, and it's time to think about pleasure. And what better than to relax with a rum aged deep underwater to get the full Caribbean experience? Or maybe a good hike along the Speyside Whisky Trail? It's reportedly a tough walk, but the rewards are wonderful.

But if it's ultimate gratification you're looking for, maybe one of these orgasm workshops is for you. Or how about a digital art center in a repurposed submarine base? Admittedly, that is a very different kind of rush, but still has to be an absolute pleasure.

Of course, many people just prefer to get out and see natural wonders. We suggest the spectacular Welsh countryside. But first...

HOMES

The most beautiful houses in Japan you can rent

Despite there now being an apparent wealth of beautiful houses available to rent by visitors to Japan, last year saw an extreme crackdown by the government on rental properties. New rules were imposed last June requiring lodgings to be registered with the local government and requiring Airbnb to remove a large number of its listings. Now, however, rental properties are back on the rise. Visitors can book traditional Japanese homes, new contemporary constructions, or even wooden cabins in the wilderness, and find the clean, minimalist design typical of Japanese homes. Here are some of the most beautiful houses you can rent in Japan.

MATADOR CITY GUIDE

TRIP PLANNING

The Ultimate Guide to Amsterdam

With one of Europe's largest and best preserved medieval cores, Amsterdam is a stunning capital known for Golden Age mansions, world-class museums, and a well-established counterculture that blurs boundaries and lowers inhibitions.

More than 18 million tourists are drawn to the city every year. Some come for the enchanting canals (which outnumber those in Venice), tolerant vibe, and historic landmarks. Others come for tulips, cheese, and windmills. Some still are lured by Amsterdam's reputation for easy sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll. Whatever brings you to this water-laced capital, Amsterdam will never disappoint in meeting your expectations — just be prepared to still be surprised with what it has to offer beyond the tourist trail.
