Hi ConvenienceBigs!
Let's take a trip down memory lane together.
Lately, I've been updating our old blog posts to ensure the content is fresh, up to date, and accurate. After all, no one likes out of date travel information, right?
As I've gone through all my articles, I've been reminiscing a lot. So many memories! Reading my blog again is like watching me grow up in real time! I started this thing when I was 27 years old!
Today, I wanted to share my favorite stories from the last ten years of blogging. They are a snapshot of my life and travel philosophy!
Everyone Says I'm Running Away
A lot of people think that long term travelers are running away from their problems. Is that really true? Are we... am I... just running away from something? This article is the most popular one I ever wrote - and one of my favorites about choosing your own path!
How to Change the "I'm Too Poor to Travel" Mindset and Say Yes to Travel
Many people believe they'll never be able to travel because of (you guessed it) money. They believe travel is for the rich. They think they can never do it too! This article is my favorite on how to change that mindset and live your travel dreams.
Chasing Ghosts: Returning to Places You Love Too Much
When we have amazing experiences in one country, we often dream of going back. Here are my thoughts on memorable countries and what it would be like to revisit them and try to relive the magic that once was.
Travel and the Art of Losing Friends
One of the worst (and most disheartening) parts about coming home is realizing that while you were gone, some of your friends left too. They left when you weren't looking. But that actually may be a blessing in disguise.
Not everyone is able to travel. No travel tip, mindset change, or advice can help the people whose circumstances are too great and who can only dream of traveling. Those of us who are able to see the world are a privileged few. It's always important to remember that!
Connecting on the Island of Ios
My experience spending time on the Greek island of Ios was one of the most profound and deep experiences I had while I traveled. I found a family there.
The Amazing Difference a Year Can Make
2016 was the best worst year of my life. I had a lot of hard times but I also learned a lot of lessons along the way about life, anxiety, and expectations.
Travel makes you a much more awesome person by teaching you about the world, the people in it, pushing your boundaries, and forcing you to try new things and expand yourself.
A Lesson in Kindness While Hitchhiking Through Iceland
I hitchhiked through Iceland's Westfjord region, meeting helpful locals on the way. It was one the best experiences I had, especially since the folks that picked me up didn't always speak English (and I don't speak Icelandic). It made for some comical moments!
