Four Houston restaurants and chefs were among finalists for the prestigious James Beard Awards, which were announced Wednesday afternoon.

Thomas Bille of Belly of the Beast in Spring for Best Chef Texas is among the list.

The James Beard Awards, sometimes called the Oscars of food, is among the highest honors for restaurants. This year's Beard awards follow the Michelin Guide's debut in Texas, which has overlap with the finalists.
