Athletics announce Opening Day jersey patches and giveaways

Firefighter killed in Calaveras County rollover crash – A firefighter died after driving off the road into a riverbank in Calaveras County. According to the California Highway Patrol, it happened on Mountain Ranch Road at Rocky Road. CHP says 20-year-old Thomas Wennhold, of San Andreas, was driving a Dodge Ram eastbound on Mountain Ranch Road when it went off the paved portion of the road, overturned and rolled down a 20-foot dirt bank into the riverbed. Wennhold died from his injuries. CHP says he was wearing a seatbelt, and DUI is not suspected.

Athletics announce Opening Day jersey patches and giveaways -Are you ready to step up to the plate this baseball season? The Athletics have announced opening day giveaways and jersey game day patches they will wear on March 31. The team will open the season wearing a Sacramento and Rickey Henderson jersey patch. The patch will feature Sacramento in the Athletics' classic green and gold color scheme. The tower bridge is prominent in the background and in the right field. On January 22, fans will be able to register for a chance to win opening day tickets and for the Athletics three-game series against the San Francisco Giants.

Supreme Court announces decision on TikTok ban - The Supreme Court on Friday unanimously upheld the federal law banning TikTok beginning Sunday unless it's sold by its China-based parent company, holding that the risk to national security posed by its ties to China overcomes concerns about limiting speech by the app or its 170 million users in the United States. A sale does not appear imminent and, although experts have said the app will not disappear from existing users' phones once the law takes effect, new users won't be able to download it and updates won't be available.
