The secret sauce to going viral in Dubai

Time Out Dubai's Social Media Editor spills the beans 👀

Time Out Dubai's Social Media Editor spills the tea 👀

Hey Time Out Dubai fam,

As a social media editor, the most common question I get asked anywhere I go is "how can I go viral?" or "what's the magic formula?"

Well, unfortunately that's top Time Out towers secret, but I will tell you this…always keep your eyes peeled for the weird, the cool, the unexpected.

Not to flex (okay, I'm flexing), but I live and breathe social media. I never skip a day of filming, scrolling, liking and sharing. But most importantly, exploring every corner of Dubai (which by the way, is all over Instagram on @timeoutdubai – oh, and on TikTok too. Get social with us).

So what's hot in Dubai RN? Here's what's living in my head rent free…

Our next day off: Come on, don't act like your next holiday isn't on your mind. Thankfully public holidays are closer than you think. The team put their thinking caps on (yes, it took three of us) to make this handy guide to getting 43 days off by using just 14 days of annual leave.

Sometimes the secret sauce to going viral is quick maths.

Things that are 'oh-so-Dubai': It's no secret that bigger is better in this city. Say hello to the 15kg pistachio chocolate bar, which is SO gigantic it broke in half before we could even film it. If you look closely, you can still see the cracks.

And yes, it tastes as good as it looks. Go try for yourself.

Spilling the tea (quite literally): Al Quoz is getting a new tea bar very soon and *so many* of you loved our sneak peek. The tea varieties, tea-infused desserts created by chef Reif Othman and all of the tea-rrific details. We're obsessed and we guarantee you will be too.

It's a hard job going to all the trendiest spots in the city, but someone has to do it 😉

Stay real and keep scrolling for more of my faves, from a brand-new Emirates WhatsApp to the return of my favourite festival.
