| Insurance company no longer renewing policies for California-based foster family agencies – Foster family agencies say one of their major insurance carriers is no longer renewing policies in the state as California's insurance crisis continues. Parents by Choice is a Stockton-based nonprofit, aimed at helping foster youth in the welfare system, insurance is required, as it protects the agency from various claims, including sexual misconduct insurance. The Nonprofits Insurance Alliance of California (NIAC) has been its provider. "It's a very costly piece of our operation and we have to make sure that we're not only getting the best insurance, but we're getting the best price," said Tony Yadon, the CEO of Parents by Choice. Postal keys stolen from USPS mail carrier in Roseville during armed robbery – Postal keys were stolen from a mail carrier in Roseville Tuesday afternoon during an armed robbery. According to the Roseville Police Department, the robbery was reported around 2:15 p.m. in the area of the 1700 block of Mockingbird Street. Police said a United States Postal Service employee was approached while on the job and delivering mail. The armed suspect demanded the victim's postal keys, eventually showing a gun and stealing the keys following a quick struggle with the mail carrier. Suspect throws rock through door, steals sculptures from Sacramento art store – An art heist in midtown Sacramento was caught on camera last week when a man threw a rock through the window of University Art on J Street. It was a bold and brazen break-in on Oct. 17 just before 7 p.m. The man in the video, who Sacramento police said is 32-year-old Andrew Schortgen, was seen throwing a piece of concrete through University Art on J Street. He then paced the streets for a full minute before returning. Cell phone video shows Schortgen throwing another rock that breaks the glass in one of the doors of the building.
