| Man was found hiding in a trash can after shooting at Sacramento police – Following an all-day search for a person suspected of shooting at and almost hitting a police officer in Sacramento, a 19-year-old man was arrested after being subdued by a police dog. SWAT officers responded Sunday morning to reports of a person who was pointing a gun at people. The officers established a perimeter in the area of 63rd Street and Lemon Hill Avenue. Police said the man was hurt by the K9 officer, but was medically cleared and was booked at the Sacramento County Main Jail. (Jay Kim & Lena Howland, ABC10) Sacramento's first woman elected mayor dies at 97 – Ann Rudin, who was mayor of the city between 1983 to 1992, also served on the Sacramento City Council, and as president of both the League of Women Voters of Sacramento and the League of Women Voters of California. "Mayor Anne Rudin was always a leader ahead of her time. She was among the first to recognize that LGBTQ rights are core civil rights," said Mayor Darrell Steinberg. "She broke the glass ceiling becoming Sacramento’s first elected woman mayor." Burglars steal trucks at UC Davis, ram it through gate to steal from the campus – Campus officers responded Saturday morning to a series of burglaries at UC Davis, discovering gates were rammed open and equipment was gone. An air compressor was stolen from one building, along with two Ford trucks at the school — one of which has been recovered so far. UC Davis police said one of the people was a man wearing an orange and black ball cap, a black sweatshirt, grey jeans, black and white shoes and yellow gloves.
