Former Woodlands football player performs 'Killers of the Flower Moon' song at Oscars
Anyone remember The Woodlands High School's first ticket to the state championships in 2003?
You may have gotten a reminder without knowing it when watching the Oscars this year. Amos Dailey is a former Woodlands football player and current software engineer in Tulsa. He's also a member of the Osage tribe and performed with other members on the Oscars stage Sunday.
Dailey and several others performed Scott George's Scott George's "Whazhazhe: A Song For my People," which was composed for Martin Scorsese's "Killers of the Flower Moon." The song was the first Best Original Song nomination composed by a member of the Osage tribe.
Although the film was snubbed of all nine nominations, it's still crucial to Native American representation and Osage Nation publicity as the tribe revitalizes its language and culture, Dailey said.
